Household Hive

1. Introduction & Overview

Household Hive LLC (“Household Hive,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is pleased to offer our Referral Program (“Program”) to our community. These Referral Program Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your participation in the Program. By referring a family, submitting a referral inquiries form, or seeking to claim a referral reward, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.

The Program is designed to reward members of our community who introduce new families to Household Hive’s premium household staffing placement services, such as nannies, household managers, family assistants, newborn care specialists, private educators, and personal assistants.

2. Eligibility

The Program is open to individuals who refer prospective families to Household Hive. To participate as a referrer, you must:

  • Be a legal resident of the United States and at least 18 years of age.
  • Submit the referral prior to, or at the time of, the referred family’s initial consultation with Household Hive. Retrospective referral claims will not be honored.
  • Provide accurate, truthful, and complete information regarding both yourself and the referred family.

Employees, contractors, affiliates, and representatives of Household Hive, as well as immediate family members of any such individuals, are not eligible to receive rewards under this Program.

3. Qualified Referrals

A “Qualified Referral” is defined as a family referred by you to Household Hive that meets all of the following criteria:

  • They are a new contact to Household Hive. The referred family must not have previously registered, initiated a consultation, or engaged with Household Hive’s placement services under any name or alias prior to your referral submission.
  • They enter into a binding, signed Family Agency Agreement with Household Hive.
  • They successfully complete a long-term household professional placement (e.g., long-term nanny, household manager, newborn care specialist, etc.) through Household Hive’s services.
  • They pay all required fees to Household Hive, including the $400 non-refundable engagement fee and the full 15% placement fee, without dispute, chargeback, or default.
  • The placed household professional completes their first thirty (30) calendar days of employment or active placement with the referred family.

4. Referral Rewards

Subject to these Terms, for each Qualified Referral, Household Hive provides rewards to both the referrer and the referred family as detailed below.

4.1 Reward for the Referrer ($500 Gift Card)

As a thank you for introducing a new family to our community, referrers of a Qualified Referral are entitled to receive a $500 gift card of their choice from a list of standard retailers provided by Household Hive (such as Amazon, Target, Nordstrom, or an digital Visa/Mastercard gift card where available).

The $500 gift card will be issued, ordered, or delivered electronically to the referrer within thirty (30) days following the completion of the referred family’s candidate placement and the trial/initial 30-day employment period, provided all associated placement invoices have been fully paid by the referred family.

4.2 Discount for the Referred Family ($500 Fee Discount)

To welcome the referred family to Household Hive, they will receive a $500 discount applied directly to their final long-term placement fee invoice upon a successful match.

This discount will be clearly itemized on the final invoice submitted to the referred family. The referred family remains responsible for paying the $400 non-refundable engagement fee, which is required to initiate the search process and is not subject to any discounts. The $500 discount is only applicable to the final placement fee and has no cash value.

5. Reward Limits and Conditions

  • No Double Referrals: If a family is referred by multiple individuals, only the referrer whose written submission or contact form was received first by Household Hive will be eligible for the Referral Reward.
  • Single Reward Per Family: You can only receive one $500 referrer reward per referred family household. Subsequent placements or on-call memberships booked by the same referred family do not qualify for additional rewards.
  • No Cash Alternative: Referrer rewards are issued solely as gift cards and are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash or cash equivalents.
  • Verification: Household Hive reserves the right to verify the validity of all referrals and inspect all candidate/family interactions before granting any rewards or discounts.

6. Non-Circvention and Fair Play

We expect referrers and referred families to act in good faith throughout the Program. Any attempt to manipulate, bypass, or abuse the Program terms—including, but not limited to, referring oneself, fabricating multiple profiles, submitting fake contact details, or coordinating with existing partners to bypass agency placement pipelines—will result in immediate disqualification from the Referral Program, forfeiture of any pending rewards, and termination of services with Household Hive.

7. Taxes & Compliance

referrers are solely responsible for any tax liabilities, disclosures, or reporting obligations arising from their receipt of a $500 gift card reward under this Program. Depending on the value of rewards received during a calendar year, Household Hive may be legally required to issue a Form 1099 or collect tax identification information from you before processing your gift card.

8. Term and Program Modification

Household Hive reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Referral Program, or change any reward amounts or structures (including the $500 gift card and $500 placement fee discount rules) at any time and for any reason, with or without prior notice. Any referral submitted prior to the date of Program modification or termination will be honored under the terms in effect at the time of submission, subject to all other eligibility requirements.

9. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers

Household Hive’s Referral Program is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the eligibility, timing, or fulfillment of gift cards or placement discounts, except as explicitly written in these Terms. In no event shall Household Hive be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your participation in the Program, and our maximum liability relating to any referral claim is capped at the value of the single disputed reward ($500).
