Family Placement Process

A clear, guided path to finding the right household professional for your home.

Not every childcare need is long-term. Some families need support for a few weeks, a few months, a school break, a transition between caregivers, or a temporary change in schedule.

Hiring household support should not feel like a guessing game. Finding the right person for your home takes more than posting a job and hoping the right candidate appears. Families are often sorting through different schedules, pay expectations, personalities, experience levels, household needs, and employment details all at once.

Household Hive helps bring structure to that process. We learn what your household needs, shape the role, introduce qualified candidates, support interviews and next steps, and help both sides move toward a clear agreement.

Our goal is simple: to make the placement process feel less overwhelming and more intentional from start to finish.

Consultation

"We start by learning what your household actually needs."

01

The process begins with a family inquiry form and consultation call. During this conversation, we talk through your schedule, location, children or household needs, ideal start date, budget, role expectations, and the type of professional who may be the best fit.

This is also where we help clarify the role itself. Some families come in knowing exactly what they need. Others know they need help, but are not sure whether that means a nanny, family assistant, household manager, newborn care specialist, or something in between.

After the consultation, families who are ready to move forward complete the full intake form, sign the agency agreement, and submit the non-refundable engagement fee ($400).

Role Building and Search

"We turn your needs into a clear opportunity."

02

Once your family is ready to begin, we create a personalized job profile based on the details you share. This includes the schedule, responsibilities, compensation range, benefits, household expectations, must-haves, and the qualities you are hoping to find.

From there, we share the opportunity with our candidate network and reach out directly to professionals who may be a strong fit. Candidates who express interest are reviewed for experience, communication style, availability, references, and alignment with the role.

This step keeps the search focused, so candidates understand the opportunity before moving forward, and families are not sorting through random, unqualified responses.

Candidate Introductions

"You receive selected candidates who fit the role."

03

Instead of sending a large stack of resumes, Household Hive introduces a smaller group of candidates who appear aligned with your household’s needs. Families typically receive a few candidate profiles at a time, along with helpful context about each person’s experience, strengths, and potential fit.

You choose which candidates you would like to meet. We can help coordinate interviews, share questions to ask, collect feedback, and support communication between both sides.

The goal is not to overwhelm you with options. The goal is to help you meet the right people.

Interviews and Trial Period

"We help you move from interest to real-world fit."

04

After interviews, families may choose to move forward with a paid trial period. Household Hive highly encourages a trial period when possible, especially for ongoing roles, because it gives both the family and professional a better sense of how the relationship feels in real life.

During this stage, we are available to discuss interview feedback, compensation questions, trial expectations, schedule details, and any concerns that arise before a final offer is made.

The trial period is not meant to replace proper screening or a work agreement. It is an additional step that helps both sides make a more informed decision.

Offer, Agreement, and Placement

"We help bring the details together."

05

Once your family is ready to begin, we create a personalized job profile based on the details you share. This includes the schedule, responsibilities, compensation range, benefits, household expectations, must-haves, and the qualities you are hoping to find.

From there, we share the opportunity with our candidate network and reach out directly to professionals who may be a strong fit. Candidates who express interest are reviewed for experience, communication style, availability, references, and alignment with the role.

This step keeps the search focused, so candidates understand the opportunity before moving forward, and families are not sorting through random, unqualified responses.

Post-Placement Support

"We stay available after the match is made."

06

Our support does not disappear once a placement begins. Household Hive remains available during the early stage of employment to answer process-related questions, help talk through communication concerns, and provide general guidance as everyone settles into the new working relationship.

For eligible placements, Household Hive offers a 90-day replacement guarantee. If the placement does not work out within the first three months and the family has honored the agreed role, compensation, schedule, and employment terms, we will conduct one replacement search at no additional placement fee.

Our goal is to help families and professionals start with clarity, confidence, and realistic expectations.

What Is Included in the Placement Fee?

Your placement fee includes support throughout the search and hiring process, including:

Temp care is especially helpful when a family needs professional support but is not looking to commit to a permanent role.

Typical Timeline

Most long-term placements take 2–6 weeks.

Some searches move faster, while others take longer, depending on the role, schedule, location, compensation, candidate availability, and the specificity of the family’s needs.

Roles with competitive pay, clear expectations, standard schedules, and strong benefits usually attract candidates more quickly. Highly specialized roles, urgent timelines, split schedules, lower pay ranges, or changing expectations may take longer.
