Who We Are
Household Hive was created from years of working in real homes, with real families, real schedules, real children, real chaos, and, yes, the occasional snack cup found in places snack cups should never be.
For nearly a decade, I’ve worked in private household roles, including nannying, household management, and family support. I’ve seen how much trust it takes for a family to welcome someone into their home, and I’ve also seen how much care, skill, and emotional intelligence household professionals bring to the work they do every day.
As a queer, nonbinary parent and longtime household professional, I created Household Hive with both sides of the home in mind. I know how personal this process can feel, and I believe every family and professional deserves to move through it with clarity, respect, and care.
This industry is deeply personal. It is not just about finding someone who is “available.” It is about finding someone who understands your home, respects your values, communicates clearly, and can step into the rhythm of your family with confidence and care.
After years in the industry, I noticed the same gap over and over again.
Families were overwhelmed trying to find the right person. They wanted someone safe, experienced, warm, reliable, and aligned with the way their household actually worked – but the search process often felt confusing, rushed, or impersonal.
At the same time, incredible nannies and household professionals were seeking families who respected their experience, set clear expectations, and recognized that great household support is skilled work.
My professional background is a mix of hands-on household experience, people-centered learning, and business operations. Alongside nearly a decade in private household roles, I also studied psychology, which shaped the way I think about communication, child development, behavior, family dynamics, and the importance of emotional intelligence inside the home.
I later earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on IT management, giving me a strong foundation in systems, operations, project management, organization, and process improvement. That combination matters at Household Hive, because strong placements require both: a real understanding of people and a clear process to support them well.
I believe the best placements happen when everyone has the information, respect, and support they need from the beginning.
That means clear communication. Fair pay. Legal employment. Written agreements. Thoughtful screening. Realistic expectations. And space for both families and professionals to ask questions before making a commitment.
I also believe every household is different. Some families need a career nanny who can grow with their children for years. Some need a household manager who can bring order to the moving parts of daily life. Some need newborn support, educational help, or an extra set of capable hands during a busy season.
We look for professionals who take their work seriously, communicate clearly, and understand the responsibility of working inside someone’s home. We also work with families who are ready to treat household employment with the care and professionalism it deserves.
The goal is not to send the most resumes. The goal is to help find the best fit.
The kind of fit where the family feels relieved, the professional feels respected, and the home starts to run a little more smoothly.
When I’m not working on Household Hive, I’m usually still somewhere in the world of homes, schedules, systems, and family support. I continue to stay connected to the household staffing industry through hands-on household management work, which keeps this agency grounded in the real, day-to-day needs of both families and professionals.
Outside of work, I’m a parent, a systems person, and someone who has probably spent too much time thinking about how to make busy homes run a little smoother. I care about clear communication, fair expectations, and the kind of support that actually makes life feel more manageable.
I’m so glad you’re here, and congratulations on making it this far!
Whether you are a family searching for the right support or a household professional looking for your next placement, Household Hive was built with you in mind.
