We recommend reaching out as soon as you know you may need support. Strong placements take time, especially for long-term nanny, household manager, family assistant, and newborn care roles.
If your start date is flexible, that can help open up more options. If your timeline is urgent, we’ll still do our best to guide you through what is realistic.
Household Hive accepts family inquiries based on current search capacity and provider availability. If we are not able to begin your search right away, we may offer to place your family on an interest list or recommend the best time to reconnect.
The earlier you reach out, the easier it is to plan ahead and begin a thoughtful search.
Household Hive supports families seeking experienced private household professionals, including:
A nanny focuses primarily on childcare and child-related responsibilities.
A family assistant usually blends childcare with household support, such as errands, meal prep, scheduling, transportation, and organization.
A household manager focuses more heavily on the home itself, including vendors, supplies, schedules, errands, household systems, and day-to-day logistics.
Some roles overlap, and we can help you decide which title best matches your family’s needs.
Yes. Every candidate considered for placement is reviewed before being introduced to a family. We look at experience, references, communication style, professionalism, availability, role preferences, and overall alignment with private household work.
When a family selects a final candidate and chooses to move forward with a trial, we run a background check through an FCRA-compliant background check service before the trial is offered.
Yes. For long-term placements, Household Hive offers one replacement search within the first 90 days if the placement does not work out.
Replacement support is subject to the terms of the placement agreement, but our goal is to give families peace of mind during the early transition period.
Families directly employ and pay their household professional. Household Hive is a placement agency, not the employer.
Families are responsible for following applicable household employment requirements, including payroll, taxes, overtime, paid sick time, and any agreed-upon benefits. We can help families understand what should be discussed and can point them toward payroll and tax resources.
Household Hive supports temporary and short-term placements when provider availability allows.
On-call care is a service we plan to offer in the future, but it is not currently available. We do not offer event childcare at this time.
For temporary or short-term care, we recommend reaching out as early as possible. Short-notice requests may be possible, but availability is not guaranteed.
At this time, Household Hive focuses on live-out household placements.
Yes. We treat family and provider information with care and discretion. Details shared during consultations, intake forms, and the matching process are used only to support the placement process.
Yes. We understand that families often have busy schedules, so consultation availability may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends when possible.
Providers can complete one general application through Household Hive. Once your application is reviewed, we may contact you about current or future opportunities that align with your experience, availability, schedule preferences, and goals.
If you are applying for a specific job listing, you can include the job code on your application.
No. One provider application is enough for us to consider you for current and future Household Hive opportunities.
You may still let us know if a specific posted role interests you.
