Household Hive
Household Hive On-Call Care Membership gives families access to request occasional childcare from our on-call provider network.
This membership is designed for families who need flexible support for date nights, school closures, backup care, occasional weekends, parent appointments, short-term schedule gaps, and other moments when an extra set of trusted hands can make life easier.
Membership gives families a way to request care through Household Hive’s on-call system. It does not guarantee provider availability for every request
Your annual on-call care membership includes access to:
Household Hive does not charge providers to participate in on-call care. Families pay providers directly for all hours worked.
Membership does not include:
If your family needs a recurring schedule or the same provider on an ongoing basis, a temp nanny placement or long-term nanny placement may be a better fit.
This gives your family access to submit on-call care requests for 12 months.

Families pay providers directly. Provider rates may vary depending on experience, timing, number of children, duties, location, driving needs, and urgency.

When you need care, submit the on-call care request form with the date, time, location, number and ages of children, expected duties, routines, pets, driving needs, and any important notes.
02
Household Hive reviews your request and contacts providers who may be a fit.
03
You will hear back within 12 hours letting you know whether we can move forward, need more information, or are unable to confirm care.
04
If a provider is available, Household Hive confirms the details with both sides. The Household Hive booking fee is due before the booking is finalized.
05
Families pay providers directly for all hours worked, including any added time beyond the original booking.
On-call bookings require provider availability and coordination. To respect everyone’s time, Household Hive uses the following cancellation policy:
More than 48 hours before care
Families receive a full refund or credit of the Household Hive booking fee.
Within 48 hours of care
Families are responsible for 50% of the 4-hour minimum.
Within 24 hours of care
Families are responsible for the full 4-hour minimum.
Cancellation amounts are based on the confirmed provider rate and Household Hive booking fee. Families are responsible for paying the provider directly for any provider cancellation amount owed.
All care with Household Hive-introduced providers must be arranged through Household Hive. Families may not directly book, schedule, extend, or create additional care arrangements with a Household Hive-introduced provider outside of the Household Hive booking process.
If a family books additional hours directly with a provider, the family is responsible for paying the provider for all hours worked and paying Household Hive the applicable booking fee for those hours.
If a family hires or schedules an on-call provider for recurring, ongoing, or long-term care, the arrangement may be considered a placement and Household Hive’s standard placement fee may apply.
On-call care is meant for occasional or short-term needs. It is not intended to replace a long-term nanny search. A booking or provider relationship may be considered a placement if it becomes:
If that happens, Household Hive will help clarify the next steps and applicable placement terms.
Families directly engage and pay the provider for each booking. Household Hive coordinates the booking process, but the family is responsible for the care environment and all direct provider payment.
Families are responsible for:
Household Hive is not the provider’s employer, the family’s employer, a payroll provider, tax advisor, or legal advisor.
On-call membership may be a good fit for families who:
Membership may not be the best fit if your family needs guaranteed care every week, a consistent provider, or a fixed long-term schedule.
Household Hive On-Call Care Membership gives families a clearer way to request occasional childcare while keeping expectations, provider pay, and booking details organized from the start.
